At Jose Max Leon Bilingual School we work to ensure that all our spaces are safe and allow the integral development of the members of the Lions Family. The SER (Social, Empathic, Responsible) program is our commitment to achieving a school that admires differences and embraces different opinions, beliefs, and tastes, allowing each member to have his or her own voice.
The SER project is also supported by the CBJML’s Anti-Bullying Management System, which seeks to plan, implement and evaluate actions to ensure a healthy and safe coexistence environment within the framework of the Ethics of Care, to prevent and address possible situations of Bullying and Cyberbullying that may arise.

Anti-Bullying Policy
In coherence with the institutional purpose of transforming lives for a sustainable world, at Jose Max Leon Bilingual School we assume the responsibility to design and carry out promotion, prevention, attention, and follow-up actions that involve the entire educational community, in order to guarantee dignified, inclusive and safe environments for students, free from any form of discrimination, violence or harassment.
Likewise, we are committed to adopting all measures to counteract any manifestation of Bullying and/or Cyberbullying.
The above is supported by national and international guidelines in line with the protection of children’s rights, as well as the institutional framework of the ethics of care and critical responsibility.
Objectives of the SER Program
Implement prevention strategies aimed at addressing identified threats and risks related to bullying.
Identify cases of bullying and other forms of school violence to strengthen a climate of coexistence that makes the school a safe place for all our students. According to their existence, achieve their reduction.
Train academic and administrative staff in the detection and prevention of bullying and cyberbullying in order to manage prevention and promotion routes and processes throughout the educational community.
Raise awareness and sensitize students and their families about bullying and cyberbullying in relation to the problem and its implications.
Promote the knowledge and use of the channels for reporting bullying and cyberbullying situations (attention routes).
The Anti-Bullying Commission
At our institution, Colegio Bilingüe José Max León, the Anti-Bullying Commission is responsible for adopting all initiatives aimed at the effective implementation of the UNI PDR 42/2018 practice, and in particular:

Propose preventive, educational initiatives and awareness campaigns on bullying and cyberbullying for the entire educational community, in collaboration with other educational institutions and public safety entities.

Propose and participate in projects related to preventing bullying and cyberbullying.

Analyze the results of activities related to promotion and prevention that are carried out as educational actions within the institution.

Approve the anti-bullying plan defined for the institution.

Define any evaluation questionnaires regarding bullying.

Approve the audit plan and participate in anti-bullying audits.

Verify updates to aspects related to the promotion, prevention, attention, and follow-up of bullying and cyberbullying contained in the Coexistence Manual and those by the country’s legal guidelines.

Manage all institutional actions focused on promotion, prevention, attention, and follow-up referenced in the School Coexistence Committee’s function manual.
It is composed of:

The Principal, who presides over it.

The Section Directors, who will serve as the anti-bullying representatives of the school, understanding that it is structured into three sections (Early Childhood, Pre-Youth, and Youth).

The psychologist of each Section.

The representative(s) of the teaching staff. e. The President of the Parents’ Council. f. The Student Representative. g. The Student Ombudsperson. h. Other members of the Academic Community, as needed, with voice but no vote.
Note: Participation of one female student and one male student is guaranteed.
The Anti-Bullying Commission is officially appointed by Colombian legislation on School Governance, under the guidelines and timelines set by the Principal, corresponding to the School Coexistence Committee.
